Caravan mattresses are usually designed to fit the available space rather than to follow neat bedroom dimensions. That is sensible for the layout, but less helpful when you are trying to buy new bedding or make the bed more comfortable.

The first night on a caravan bed can feel perfectly acceptable. It is often the second or third morning when a narrow edge, join between cushions or tired mattress becomes much more noticeable.

Some caravans do use familiar UK bed dimensions, particularly in larger fixed-bed layouts. These measurements are useful as a starting point, but always check your own bed before ordering a topper, fitted sheet or replacement mattress.
